AboutFace
Corporation was founded as Atlantic Media Corporation in
1993 to provide directory products and services to the
business and academic communities. Initially the Company
produced "facebooks" (names and faces directories) for
local schools and companies. Beginning in 1995, AboutFace
also began selling a Windows-based software package known
as the Electronic Facebook to take the place of printed
directories in leading-edge companies. In 1997, the
Electronic Facebook was renamed AboutFace, and it is now
in use at companies around the world. In 1998 AboutFace released aboutface.com, a
Web-based directory product that is offered as a rentable
(ASP)
application. In 1999 AboutFace released
aboutface.intranet, which is an server appliance-based version of aboutface.com. In 2001 version 5.0 of AboutFace
was released, with enhanced customizability and
integration features. In 2002 AboutFace for SQL
Server was released. In 2006 AboutFace introduced
the AboutFace/Active Directory Connector. In 2007,
and beyond, AboutFace will continue to deliver software
that empowers employees and organizations.
