Troubleshooter for AboutFace on Windows NT/2000 and SQL Server 7/2000

AboutFace is installed, but now I'm at a login screen.  What username and password should I use?

Username: admin
Password: demo

I see a message that says "Please register..." on the left side of the screen.

Please contact AboutFace Support to request an updated registration number.

I want to delete the initial record, named System Administrator, in the starter database but it won't let me delete it.

In order to prevent a situation in which no Administrator-level passwords remain in the database, with the result that no one can administer the system, AboutFace prevents a user from deleting his or her own record.  If you wish to delete the System Administrator record, follow these steps:

  • Create a new Administrator-level record.

  • Log out and log back into AboutFace with the new Administrator-level username.

  • Delete the System Administrator record.

I don't want all users to have to log into AboutFace each time.  How do I set it up so that any user can access the system in read-only mode without having to log in?

  • Click the Admin icon, then choose General Preferences.  Check the option for "Public Access".

  • Click the Admin icon, then click on Set Access Permissions by IP Address.  Clear all entries under "Allowed IP Addresses".
